Remember when we wondered why the hell we went to Coachella Weekend Two? We will wonder again next year, because super-sized Coachella will live on. The Indio, California festival’s organizers have confirmed that the 2012 experiment — running the identical festival two weekends in a row — will continue in 2013.

The announcement follows speculation that Goldenvoice/AEG Live, who helm the fest, might be expanding the event from two to three weekends, based on comments from the organizations that they “probably could have added two more Coachella weekends” this year, if they had wanted to. The festival’s last big expansion came in 2007, when it shifted from a two to three-day format. Coachella’s 2013 installment will land April 12-14 and April 19-21, and advance sale tickets will already be available, 11 months ahead of time, starting Thursday (May 17) at 10 a.m. Pacific Time.
