Kanye West Forced to Address Ridiculousness of Ridiculous Kim Kardashian Rumor
"Come on now, that doesn't even sound like me."
Kanye West is best known for making public proclamations on telethons and awards show stages, but the 34-year-old rapper was forced to respond to a recent outrage in a fairly conventional manner — he issued a statement to Us Weekly, the publication that originally ran a story in which a source said West referred to rumored girlfriend Kim Kardashian as “his Beyoncé.”
“Of course there are a lot of media inaccuracies surrounding this past couple of weeks, especially the ‘She’s my Beyoncé’ quote,” West told the magazine. “I would never compare anyone to my friend’s wife. Come on now, that doesn’t even sound like me. If I don’t say something in a rap or on Twitter, it’s not true.”
West does rhyme about Kim in “Way Too Cold,” the new song previously known as “Theraflu.” West changed the track’s name earlier this week and put it up for sale on his website, prompting many folks to presume a potential copyright lawsuit prompted the change. But in a cute response, the company that makes the medicine told TMZ, “Novartis Consumer Health did not ask that the name be changed — that request would be way too cold.” Free publicity for everyone!
