When: January 12, 1993
Who: To help celebrate the Doors’ induction, Eddie Vedder stepped into Jim Morrison’s shoes only to find they didn’t fit, especially on an endless “Light My Fire.” Vedder seems bashful about being there, then lets out some jarring screams at the song’s climax, Ray Manzarek’s keyboard has a horribly rinky-dink cocktail lounge tone, and Robbie Krieger turns in a nice guitar solo that’s marred only by some seriously ill-fitting leather pants.
As Embarrassing As: Spinach in the teeth.
