T.I. is a comeback king, and Young Jeezy is a veteran master of raw street-level uplift. If T.I.’s latest mixtape, Fuck Da City Up, couldn’t quite set the world on fire, and Jeezy’s recent Thug Motivation 103: Hustlerz Ambition saw him officially being eclipsed by Rick Ross as hip-hop’s larger-than-life action hero, it would be foolish to count either of these two out.
In the gritty new clip for Fuck Da City Up‘s title track, the Atlanta rappers set a whole lot of shit on fire, fucking up their hometown in a senselessly anarchic way. It’s all fairly standard cred-burnishing stuff, complete with middle fingers and ominous cop cars, but these guys do it better than most. “It was a cool contest / I guess the shades lost,” Jeezy brays, before giving us a rare glimpse of his eyes. Lots of Atlanta sports gear on display: What do you say, fellas? Is Chipper Jones fat? Or not?
