Katy Perry’s camp is working valiantly to keep fans focused on the singer’s music rather than her personal life. Late last night, the AP reported that her divorce from Russell Brand has been settled in record-breaking time (they announced the split on December 30 — only six weeks ago) and both stars will be legally single as of July 14. The terms of the divide are confidential, but TMZ reports Brand did not pursue the couple’s “community property,” meaning he didn’t lay claim to any of the millions his soon-to-be ex-wife made selling Teenage Dream albums.
Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, as she will now be known (well, sort of…) did indeed make millions off Teenage Dream, and she hopes to keep raking in that cash. A new special edition of the album titled Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection is due March 27, and it’ll include three as-yet-unnamed new songs, as well as the disc’s original 12 tracks, “E.T” featuring Kanye West, “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” featuring Missy Elliott, a Jon Brion-produced acoustic version of “The One That Got Away,” and a seven-minute Tommie Sunshine megamix featuring Dream‘s No.1s.
Why should fans buy the album again? “This is the complete story of Teenage Dream,” Perry said in a statement. “It was an incredible honor to tie the King of Pop’s Billboard Hot 100 record, but I’m moving forward and had a few things left to get off my chest. So this is the complete special edition of my album for my fans.”
