Rick Ross Won’t Let Seizures Delay New Jay-Z Team-Up

There’s no rest for Rick Ross. The Florida rapper has attributed his recent on-flight seizures to a lack of sleep, and revealed that instead of resting up afterward, he headed straight back into the lab to wrap up a collaboration with Jay-Z. The comments came in an appearance on last night’s episode of BET’s 106 & Park, and you can watch the interview below (via the Hollywood Reporter).

“It was a case of me not getting enough rest, enough sleep,” Ross said of falling unconscious on a flight to Memphis, a scare that required an emergency landing. “I felt a little wore out but I felt like I could keep going. And I boarded a jet and I had another seizure and when I snapped out of that one, I woke up in front of a doctor.” The Maybach Music Group label boss added that he’s “totally healthy” now.

No thanks to following medical advice, apparently. Though Ross said doctors prescribed bed rest, he told BET that after the seizures he teamed up on a new track with Hova. “Me and Jay-Z finished the biggest collaboration that we’ve ever done together, for my album,” he said. “I would get two hours of sleep and keep moving. Me being a hustler.” Sometimes the most important part of hustling is knowing when to catch your breath.
