  • Ryan Adams dropped by BBC Radio 2 yesterday to promote his upcoming album Ashes & Fire. The singer-songwriter also unveiled a stunning acoustic cover of Iron Maiden‘s 1986 tune “Wasted Years,” which you can hear below.

  • The Vaccines have canceled all tour dates through October so frontman Justin Young can undergo throat surgery. The British rockers plan to resume performing on October 26 in Paris. “Canceling shows in exchange for repeated hospital visits plain fucking sucks,” Young said in a statement. “I know it may seem unfair that we continue to visit certain places whilst failing to visit your city or country, but touring is all we have ever wanted to do, so to suggest that we may not want to play a show, or that certain shows take priority over others, is not true.” [The Vaccines]
  • Stone Temple Pilots‘ frontman Scott Weiland has released a digital album featuring covers of The Smiths, Beatles, Radiohead, Nirvana, and more. The singer recorded the covers set during sessions for his upcoming third solo album. Pick it up here.

  • Capitol Records has revealed details of the Beach BoysSMiLE, out November 1. The release, which collects the group’s lost recordings for the abandoned late-’60s album, will be released in multiple formats, including a five-CD, two-LP box set. [Brian Wilson]
