  • Amy Winehouse was honored by family and friends today at a private funeral in North London. Her father gave a moving elegy at the service, which was attended by Mark Ronson and Kelly Osbourne. She is expected to be cremated. [The Telegraph]

  • Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn has teased tunes from his collaborative project DRC Music, which he is currently recording over seven marathon days in the Democratic Republic of Congo with Dan the Automator, Congolese musicians, and others.   • At a recent festival appearance in Switzerland, the National invited Beirut frontman Zach Condon on stage for a rendition of the Brooklyn rockers’ track “Fake Empire.” Watch it below.

  • Lykke Li will return to the U.S. for an 11-date Fall tour. The Swedish singer-songwriter will kick off the trek at Austin, TX’s Fun Fun Fun Festival on November 5; it wraps up on November 21 in New Orleans, LA. Li is also scheduled to play four dates in August, including a slot at Lollapalooza in Chicago, IL, on August 6. [Lykke Li]

  • Arcade Fire‘s remix of their Suburbs track “Ready to Start,” which they created with producer Damian Taylor, has hit the web. Head over to Pitchfork to hear it. A demo version of “Sprawl I” has also leaked; check it out at Sound&Color. Both tracks will be included on the band’s reissue of The Suburbs, due out August 2.
