Evanescence Return, Moz Finishes LP + More

  • Evanescence — who are busy working on their comeback album — will make their return to the stage this September with their first show in years at Brazil’s Rock in Rio festival. System of a Down, Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, Coheed and Cambria, and others are scheduled for the fest, which takes place September 23-October 2 in Rio de Janeiro. [Blabbermouth]

  • Morrissey has finished recording his first album in two years, although he is currently looking for a label to release the disc. “The follow-up to Years of Refusal is ready and fluttering wildly against the bars,” he said in a statement. “There is still no record label and the years shuffle like cards.   • Kings of Leon‘s Matthew Followill has become a dad. The guitarist and his wife Johanna Bennett gave birth to their first child, Knox, last month, a rep for the band has now revealed. “Mother, father, and baby are happy and healthy and doing well!” the rep told Us Weekly.

  • Rage Against the Machine have announced details of their one-off summer show in Los Angeles. Dubbed L.A. Rising, the gig will feature Rage headlining a bill with Muse, Rise Against, Lauryn Hill, Immortal Technique, and El Gran Silencio. It is scheduled for July 30 at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Tickets go on sale May 13 at Ticketmaster.

  • Lil Wayne will extend his massive I Am Music Tour throughout the rest of this summer. The trek will now go through September 11 in Woodlands, TX. Weezy has also tapped Rick Ross, Keri Hilson, Lloyd, and Far East Movement to open up dates for the second leg. [Billboard]
