This week, the Big 4 (Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax) played their historic first U.S. show together, and we hung out with them backstage in California. We did the same at the kickoff of Mumford & Sons and Edward Sharpe’s train tour of America. Meanwhile, Amanda Palmer recorded a whole album in a day with a group of famous friends, including Ben Folds; Eminem, the Foo-Fighters, and Coldplay were announced as Lollapalooza headliners; and the Beastie Boys streamed their comeback album, Hot Sauce Committee Part Two. SPIN also remembered punk icon Poly Styrene, who lost her battle with cancer at 53.
