  • The Decemberists recently dropped by L.A. radio station KCRW to perform a stripped-down 45-minute acoustic set, which includes a cover of R.E.M.‘s “Cuyahoga.” Watch the full show below.

  • Chrissie Hynde hopes to work on a new Pretenders record after wrapping sessions for her side-project J.P, Chrissie and the Fairground Boys. It’ll be the band’s first album since their 2008 comeback Break Up the Concrete. “I love the Pretenders band, especially this lineup, and I still like to think that when we go out it’s the best thing for all of us,” Hynde says. “But with the Pretenders I know the guys will have other work; it’s not like it’s a new, young band and they’re waiting for me… But because I love the band I want to do something else, so I just have to write some songs.” [Billboard]

  • After tickets for their final show at New York’s Madison Square Garden got snatched up in seconds, LCD Soundsystem have announced four additional farewell shows at Terminal 5, from March 28-31.Frontman James Murphy has also posted an entertaining screed about the ticket sale snafu, in which he sets his sights on scalpers who reportedly grabbed most of the tickets from fans. Tickets for the newly scheduled gigs will go onsale Friday (Feb. 18) via Ticketmaster for $40 plus fees, and, according to the band’s publicist, a valid photo ID that matches the name on the tickets will need to be shown for admittance.
