White Stripes Reissues, ‘Spider-Man’ Rehearsals +

  • The White Stripes will reissue their first three albums (The White Stripes, DeStijl, and White Blood Cells) on 180-gram vinyl through Jack White‘s Third Man Records. The reissues — also pressed in limited-edition colored vinyl — were produced from the original analog master tapes and are available starting November 30 at Third Man‘s store.

  • Muse, Foo Fighters, Band of Horses, Conan O’Brien and others have all donated super-rare collectible and autographed items (including guitars, albums and more) for a charity auction benefitting the family of Andy Kotowicz, Sub Pop’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing who tragically died in a car accident on October 21. Among the items: an autographed Joe Strummer guitar signed by the Foos, a test pressing of Bon Iver’s debut For Emma, Forever Ago, an autographed acoustic guitar by James Blunt and Cee-Lo, and more.   • John Lydon has put plans for a new Public Image Ltd. record on hold following the death of his step-daughter, Ari Up of the Slits. “I don’t want to leave my wife alone for any length of time right now,” Lydon told the BBC. “So the music side has to be held.”

  • French pop whiz Anthony Gonzalez says his next album as M83 will be “very, very, very epic.” In an interview with Pitchfork, the songwriter says he has prepped more than 20 demos, which he’ll soon take into the studio with frequent collaborator Morgan Kibby and Beck/Nine Inch Nails bassist Justin Meldal-Johnsen.
