Robyn Talks New Fall Tour

Fresh off her triumphant All Hearts Tour with Kelis, Swedish pop star Robyn will return stateside for a 15-date jaunt, which kicks off November 5 in Miami Beach and wraps November 23 in San Francisco. Robyn will be joined by Maluca and Nadia Kills for the trek; full dates below.

With her latest EPs Body Talk Pt. 1 and Body Talk Pt. 2, Robyn has been been delivering some of the best live shows of the year, turning concert halls into sweaty discos reminiscent of Studio 54. But there’s genuine soul behind the digitized beats: Robyn, who shows off her tightly choreographed dance moves, is backed by two live drummers and two synthesizer players for her gigs.

“I kind of dislike the way live instruments sound because they sound so big and you never get the real oomph, the real club feeling from that,” Robyn tells SPIN.com. “But at the same time I want it to be live. I don’t want it to be a backtrack show where everything is the same every evening.”

As for hiring two drummers, Robyn admits it’s partly an aesthetic choice. “It looks good,” she says. “It’s like they’re choreographed, because they do the same things and I love that, but it’s also because there’s so many drums on the record, it’s all beats.”

In her sets, she mixes classics like her hit “Show Me Love” with tracks from her new EPs; plus, expect Robyn to unveil new tunes from the third installment of Body Talk, which is slated for release later this year.
