Like Jay-Z and the Roots, Gnarls Barkley’s Cee-Lo Green loves indie rock — his new solo album Cee-Lo Green Is the Lady Killer (out this fall) even features a electro-soul cover of Band of Horses’ “No One’s Gonna Love You.” The crooner just released a cinematic video for the track — watch below!

The clip follows a young couple who embark on a cross-country road trip. All goes swimmingly — hot tub hookups, naked romps through summer grass, loving gazes — until they discover the rifts in their commitment to each other and their relationship implodes on the side of the highway.

The song — produced by Paul Epworth (Bloc Party, the Rapture) and scheduled to drop as a single on August 9 — finds Cee-Lo playing narrator with his velvety pipes: “Things start splitting at the seams and now / It’s tumbling down / Anything to make you smile / You are the ever-living ghost of what once was.”

Watch the video below, then let us know what you think of Cee-Lo’s cover in the comments section! Also, while you wait for the release of Lady Killer, download album track “Georgia” here in exchange for your e-mail address.
