After Conan O’Brien said “goodbye” to The Tonight Show Friday, Baltimore’s Beach House said “hello” to late-night with their first-ever live TV performance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Watch the dream-pop outfit play “Zebra,” the opening track off their Sub Pop debut Teen Dream, below.

With the new album, out Jan. 26, Beach House focus their reverb-soaked, ethereal sound, a maturation that’s clearly demonstrated in the video clip. On “Zebra,” the original duo — singer/keyboardist Victoria Legrand and guitarist Alex Scally — are accompanied by two sidemen on keyboards and drums, who give depth to the band’s foggy wash, yet add a clear pop sensibility, focusing the tune and allowing Legrand’s vocals to lead.

In her review of Teen Dream, SPIN contributor Melissa Maerz writes that the Baltimore dream-pop duo’s “dense-fog organs, reverb-y slide guitars, and nodding harmonies feel as lush as a midnight walk in a wet garden… [and now] those feelings now sound like actual songs.”

Beach House kick off a massive U.S. tour with an album release concert Jan. 26 at Brooklyn’s Bell House venue. See the band’s complete itinerary here.
