LISTEN: Killers Release Christmas Song
Vegas boys go south-of-the-border with their Mariachi El Bronx collabo!
‘Tis the season for giving, Killers style.
For the fourth year in a row, the Las Vegas band is releasing a Christmas tune to benefit (RED), an organization that helps fight AIDS in Africa. The song, “Happy Birthday Guadalupe,” is a collaboration with Wild Light and Mariachi El Bronx — both of which opened the Killers’ latest tour — and drops to iTunes today in commemoration of World AIDS Day.

“(RED) has made great strides in providing care to those affected by AIDS throughout Africa, and it’s our honor to continue to contribute to that cause,” Killers frontman Brandon Flowers said in a statement.
The new song — which follows other holiday releases, including their collaboration with Elton John and Pet Shop Boy Neil Tennant in 2008 — has a Spanish flavor, with Flowers and Wild Light trading verses about waking up on Christmas morning, as Mariachi El Bronx stir a south-of-the-border groove with horns, flamenco acoustic guitar, and hip-shaking rhythms. ¡Feliz Navidad!
There’s a music video, too, set in the desert with otherworldly spirits, angels, and skeletons, and a cameo by… Luke Perry.
Hey, 90210 alums need company during the holidays, too.
