Peter Bjorn and John may be the indie rockers with the most street cred in the hip-hop ‘hood.

Last spring, the Swedes released Living Thing, their latest album that traded their characteristic pop guitars for bangin’ beats — and hip-hop heads took notice. Mixtape master Mick Boogie curated a remix of the album, Re-Living Thing (out August 27), working with PBJ to recruit MCs Talib Kweli, GZA, Wale and others to contribute. Among them: DJ Jazzy Jeff, who remixes “Stay This Way” under rhymes from Big Pooh (of Little Brother), Phil Nash, and Chaundon. Download the song below.

Re-Living Thing is just the latest nugget of praise the hip-hop community has laid on PBJ. Last year, Kanye West sampled the trio’s 2006 hit “Young Folks” for his Can’t Tell Me Nothing mixtape and joined the group live at a Swedish festival. ‘Ye was so smitten with PBJ’s Living Thing track “Nothing to Worry About,” he even leaked it on his blog. Lil Wayne protégé Drake also worked with the group on “Let’s Call It Off,” a cut from his album So Far Gone.

Peter Bjorn and John recently dropped by SPIN HQ to play a stripped down set of new tracks. Watch video of the performance here.
