On February 17, St. Louis, MO, garage rock quartet Living Things will release their much-anticipated third album, Habeas Corpus. And as the band proved with an exclusive SPIN.com performance of two new songs, the four-year wait was definitely worthwhile.
The album, recorded in Berlin by the band — brothers Lillian, Eve and Bosh Berlin, and guitarist Cory Becker — is chock full of the usual Living Things fare: gritty, distorted guitars, ’60s-style R&B, and frontman Lillian’s gruff vocals.
Below, watch the band perform two songs for SPIN.com cameras in New York City: “Mercedes Marxist,” a throwback tune with Rolling Stones-like guitar, and the riff-heavy “Oxygen.”
