While we here at SPIN.com were indulging in the holiday season’s tasty trimmings (chocolate covered cherries, anyone?), some of rock music’s biggest acts, including Coldplay, Arcade Fire, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, as well as up-and-comers like Philadelphia mixmaster Pandemonium Jones, were unveiling their holiday gifts to fans — the gift of free new music!

Below download new tracks from the aforementioned artists, and leave your thoughts on the songs in the comment section.

Coldplay “Viva La Vida (Thin White Duke Remix)”:
British producer/electronic musician Stuart Price (aka Thin White Duke) — best known as the producer of the Killers’s Day & Age and as a frequent Madonna collaborator — turns this anthemic, larger-than-life track into a thumping, Ibiza-ready dance floor banger. Visit Coldplay.com to download >>

Arcade Fire, “Burning Bridges”:
In support of their forthcoming tour documentary Miroir Noir, Montreal’s Arcade Fire have unveiled this “previously unreleased track from the Neon Bible archives.” It’s all instrumental, and all moody, dramatic, and classically Arcade Fire — and most importantly, it’s all excellent. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, “A Fine Way to Lose (Drunken Demo)”:
Though part of BRMC’s live catalogue for sometime, it’s only now that this countrified, down-home ballad gets the recording treatment. Even a “drunken demo” shows the band’s unique knack for dark Americana. Visit blackrebelmotorcycleclub.com for download info >>

Pandemonium Jones, Splendid Moments 2008:
Philly-based mixmaster (also half of DJ duo Caps & Jones, whose amazing Moving in Stereo was No. 32 on our Best of 2005 albums list) mashes his favorite tracks of the year — from Fleet Foxes’ “Blue Ridge Mountains” to Kanye West’s “Say You Will”– into a continuous mix tailor-made for a New Year’s fiesta full of 2008 musical nostalgia.
