Should Led Zeppelin Reunite?
Check out our complete coverage of the controversy. Then tell us, are you voting "Yes" or "No"?
What started out simply enough last fall, with a one-off show in London in honor of the late Atlantic Records maven Ahmet Ertegun, has dissolved into chaos. Led Zeppelin is talking full-fledged reunion, and it’s already become a right mess. Singer Robert Plant stated quite clearly that he doesn’t want to partake. But bassist John Paul Jones confirmed that he’s been rehearsing with guitarist Jimmy Page and drummer Jason Bonham, the son of Zep’s late drummer, John — and also mentioned that they’ve “had the odd singer come in and have a bash.”
And, as SPIN’s Steve Kandell points out in a fervent plea for Zeppelin to forego the madness, those singers are odd indeed. Namely, “the dude who replaced the dude from Creed,” aka Alter Bridge singer Myles Kennedy. Or Chris Cornell, who dropped coy quotes this week about his potential involvement.
As the rumor mill churns full-bore about a more prolonged Zeppelin reunion, we’re asking you the big question: Should the legendary rock group reunite at all? Would it be okay if Plant were involved?
