Various Artists, ‘Nobody Knows Anything: DFA Presents Supersoul Recordings’ (DFA/Supersoul)

In those rare, recent moments when he wasn’t digging up dusty “special disco versions” to DJ, LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy somehow discovered a Berlin dance label that hadn’t stirred up blogosphere buzz. This double-disc set on his international Death From Abroad imprint presents a batch of analog-fueled electro (Plastique de Rêve’s “Lost in the City”), ever-mutating house (Mogg & Naudascher’s four-part “Moon Unit”), and space disco, released during the past two years. Supersoul honcho Xaver Naudascher emulates classic Detroit techno on “Motor City,” while his synthon “Lost” cries like a cranky kid. Call it growing pains for such a young label.
