Eagles of Death Metal Announce Tour: “I Want You to Dance!”

Frontman Jesse Hughes tells SPIN.com what else he wants fans to do at the band's upcoming headlining shows.

“Fuck yeah, I’m excited!” Jesse “Boots Electric” Hughes, the mustachioed frontman of Eagles of Death Metal, tells SPIN.com about his band’s just-announced headlining fall tour. And though co-founding drummer and Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme will be noticeably absent, fans can expect an apt replacement: Richter scale-tilting Queens sticksman Joey Castillo. “He’s one of the finest drummers I’ve ever played with,” Hughes says.

The party-rock outfit, touring in support of their forthcoming album, Heart On (out Oct. 28), will kick off the 21-date run in Seattle Oct. 30, after closing out a few remaining September dates opening for the Hives. And Hughes can’t wait to play the new material: “I feel like these are definitely live tunes,” he says. “I’m not trying to be different or reinvent the wheel. I just literally want you to dance. I’m spending my every moment trying to reach that end.”
