Flight of the Conchords Plot Spring Tour

Who? Grammy Award-winning New Zealanders Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement, the stars of hilarious HBO series Flight of the Conchords, which chronicles — often in gut-busting song — the duo’s awkward relationships and attempts to make it as a band in New York City.

What? A 14-date U.S. tour in support of their self-titled debut album, out April 22 via Sub Pop. Kicking off with an in-store performance at Los Angeles’ Amoeba Records, the tour will lead the ragamuffin duo to cities like New York, Milwaukee, Denver, and Chicago, as well as festivals like Washington State’s Sasquatch! and the previously detailed Sub Pop 20th birthday bash in July.

Should I go? Absolutely! Flight of the Conchords’ comic ditties on love, ladies, and relationships are fall-out-of-your chair funny, and with a little off-the-cuff live commentary to boot, this show could be one the funniest and most entertaining of the season. To whet your palette, listen to “Ladies of the World.”
