Blitzen Trapper Tour, Prep EP; Walkmen Plot Outing

Portland, OR’s country-tinged outfit Blitzen Trapper have extended the band’s fall tour, now joining sonically like minded duo Two Gallants on their previously announced outing. The lengthy tour, rolling out tonight in Walla Walla, WA, will deliver the bands’ tunes to cities such as Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, and New York. In addition, Blitzen Trapper will be armed and prepared with the Cool Love #1 EP, a self-released effort which will drop to store shelves Oct. 9 in 7″ vinyl and digital formats. The new EP, featuring three out-takes from the band’s third release, 2007’s Wild Mountain Nation, as well as a Daytrotter Session version of “Jericho,” will mark the first time the six-piece’s music will hit vinyl.

Walkmen Plot Outing

Emerging from the band’s ramshackle Manhattan studio, the Walkmen have announced a string of dates set to preview material from their yet-to-be detailed follow up to 2006’s A Hundred Miles Off, and their recreation of Harry Nilsson’s Pussy Cats, Pitchfork reports. Kicking off Oct. 11 in Toronto, the Walkmen will then hit Midwestern cities like Ann Arbor and Cleveland, before ascending the West Coast from Los Angeles to Vancouver, BC, stopping into San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle along the way.

Kid Rock to Hit Road

Who would have known that today (Sept. 14) would have warranted stories from both sides of VMA ring. Following in the footsteps of this morning’s news regarding fellow Pamela Anderson love thing Tommy Lee, self-professed American bad ass Kid Rock has stepped forward and unveiled a string of live dates in support of Rock’n’ Roll Jesus, Rock’s latest effort, out Oct. 9. The gigs, showcasing Rock’s tunes in a smaller, club setting, will kick off in Cincinnati Oct. 6, and then hit New York, Toronto, Nashville, Miami, and Atlanta.
