Jonah Matranga Preps ‘And’

Prolific singer/songwriter Jonah Matranga, the former frontman of ’90s emo and post-hardcore act Far as well as the sole member of Onelinedrawing, has announced the release of his first full-fledged solo album, And, out Sept. 18 via Limekiln. Recorded in Brooklyn alongside Earl Greyhound knob twister Ian Love and completed this spring, Matranga’s And will arrive to store shelves sporting different packaging in each country. “It’s the global anti-globalization record,” Matranga said in a statement.

The fresh oeuvre, also influenced by the recent cancer-related deaths of close family members and friends, reflects on “impermanence, both sweet and sad” as well as “watching my daughter grow up,” said Matranga. Although details have yet-to-be announced, the seminal underground troubadour will tour the U.S. this fall behind the album’s release.
