Shins, Modest Mouse, Decemberists Auction Rescheduled

Sleater-Kinney frontwoman Corin Tucker and her fundraising cohorts may have drafted Portland, OR’s finest musicians to raise funds for the city’s arts magnet elementary school, Buckman, but they certainly haven’t received aid from eBay’s technical systems. As previously reported, hand-painted and decorated toy guitars featuring works from acts such as the Decemberists, Modest Mouse, the Shins, Dandy Warhols, and Stephen Malkmus were set go up for auction beginning April 22, but according to an email from Tucker, eBay “unfortunately had a technical error” with the school’s listings and the auction has therefore been rescheduled to go live May 13 (eBay keyword: Buckman).

But despite the eBay’s shortcomings, the live auction event held in the Rose City last week, featuring goodies ranging from concert tickets and works of art by significant local artists to weekend getaways, culled over $52,000 for the Buckman school.
