Evanescence’s Amy Lee Weds

Welcome to the chaotic realm of Evanescence. According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and confirmed by her father John Lee to evanescencefan.net, Amy Lee, frontwoman of goth-tinged arena rock outfit Evanescence, was married last Sunday (May 6) during the same weekend two former band members — guitarist John LeCompt and drummer Rocky Gray — left the band under foggy circumstances.

Lee, 25, married her therapist and fiancé Josh Hartzler in a private ceremony at her family’s home in Little Rock. Hartzler’s friend and former Evanescence keyboardist/vocalist David Hodges was a groomsman and the only other band constituent in attendance was current guitarist Terry Balasamo. But what’s rattling our skulls isn’t the inexplicable departure of LeCompt and Gray, it’s the dynamic of Lee’s marriage: doesn’t it break the patient-doctor code?
