The Shaky Hands Will Have You Dancing in Your Desk Chair

The Portland-based quintet, the Shaky Hands, made their mark in indie rock’s wet cement before their self-titled full-length debut (out today on Holocene Music) hit the streets. Founded by vocalist/guitarist Nick Deiffs (the Castanets) and drummer Colin Anderson in 2003, the current fivesome have made a pretty wicked fun video for “Why & How Come.” Directed by Whitey McConnaughy (The Shins, Thermals, Band of Horses), the high-energy snippet features that over-enthusiastic fan you fear standing next to at every live show. While the Hands jam on stage, and other showgoers lounge lazily, the Super Fan clears a circle for his crowd show and rocks so hard that he finds himself alone in an empty venue still dancing. In “Why & How Come,” the Shaky Hands demonstrate their simple indie equation and deliver catchy, accessible hooks that will have you shakin’ your booty in your desk chair.
