Alanis Morissette ‘My Humps’ Video

Alanis Morissette, renowned for her ’90s mega-hit album Jagged Little Pill and the numerous angst-ridden singles it blossomed, has traded her north-of-the-border snow boots for the racy high heels of the Black Eyed Peas’ Fergie, offering a satire of the group’s overtly-sexual single, “My Humps,” and here, Morissette injects the sarcastic sincerity reminiscent of her previous chart-toppers. The video depicts the “Ironic” songstress clad in edgy and urban BEP branded gear and bling, dancing to her forlorn rendition of “My Bumps” alongside a Will.i.am doppelganger, all while forcing the ridiculous sexual lyrics to the forefront via projecting annunciation and a toned down piano melody.

Although a recent addition to YouTube, the video has already shot to the top of Technorati.com’s charts, stealing the crown as the web’s most viewed video. Indulge in the cover and its plentiful comments, some which cite the tune as Morissette’s best material in years, while others call for a Fergie vs. Morissette showdown — a club-ready rendition of “You Oughta Know” anyone?
