Novi Split Likes ‘Em ‘Young’

After reportedly passing winter nights drinking with his buddies in Split, Croatia, singer/songwriter David Jerkovich decided to channel that inspired spirit into more than just howling at the moon. On his upcoming sophomore LP, Pink in the Sink (out March 13 on Hush Records), he wrote and recorded most of the songs in about an hour, including a cover of Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love,” and played almost every instrument on it, including guitar, drums, bass, percussion, piano, keyboards, among other noisemakers. The result is one that sometimes defies Jerkovich’s West Coast roots, as on “Young Girls,” the singer coos with a Nashville twang alongside his coastal acoustic melodies.
