Download Illinois’ ‘Screen Door’

Contrary to what M. Night Shyamalan’s Signs would have you believe, Bucks County, PA isn’t crawling with aliens. In fact, it’s largely the kind of place where you feel safe leaving your screen door unlocked in the summer, and the Bucks County indie band Illinois capture that kind of freewheeling innocence on the feel-good “Screen Door.” Despite some bittersweet lyrics, the song’s pop harmonies slide over flashes of folk for a sound so sunny it could be used to combat Seasonal Affective Disorder. The boys in Illinois will amble down to Austin for SXSW 2007, and What the Hell Do I Know? gets an Ace Fu Records release March 6.
