Midlake to Tour

Texas jazz students turned retro softies Midlake announced a full-on attack of North America yesterday (Dec. 7) as they gear up to launch the 25-stop winter tour spanning the continent. Before kicking off the tour in New Orleans on February 2, Midlake will first knock out five Australian dates in December before returning home and hitting the road for over one month.

Midlake, whose latest release The Trials of Van Occupanther bursts with supple vintage folk-pop drenched in smooth melodies, just rounded up a ten-week-long marathon of music video debuts including a video direction contest for “It Covers the Hillsides.” SPIN.com premiered the videos for “Head Home” (read more), “Van Occupanther” (read more) and “Young Bride” (read more). The fivesome also raked in three Plug Award nominations this year including Indie Rock Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Music Video of the Year for “Young Bride.”
