From his ATL rap roots to his recent movie musical, Idlewild, it seems you can never guess what Outkast’s Andre 3000 will do next. But apparently the prolific musical astronaut’s next project finds him starring alongside the painfully hilarious Will Ferrell in Semi-Pro, a 1970s based basketball film titled, according to NME.
Semi-Pro will follow coach Jackie Moon (Ferrell) and his fictional minor-league basketball team, the Tropics, who hail from Flint, Michigan, the deprived, auto industry casualty. Andre 3000 is set to play the team’s star player. Semi-Pro hits theatres in February, reports say. You can also keep those ears tuned for Andre 3000’s voice in the upcoming reanimation of Charlotte’s Web.
