Norwegian experimental rockers the Low Frequency in Stereo are back with their third album, The Last Temptation of…Low Frequency in Stereo, Vol. 1 (out Nov. 14), and it’s a glorious melange of ’60s psych, garage rock, pop, and shoegaze. Like Scandinavian brethren Dungen, the group have a heavily instrumental sound that sometimes morphs into lengthy and loose-limbed jams, and “Axes” smartly ballasts the trippy sprawl with horns, organ, and explosively chiming guitar.
