Chicago indie rockers Veruca Salt have just dropped their fourth full-length, appropriately titled Veruca Salt IV, and that album’s “So Weird” hardly takes its moniker to heart. Though it’s been six years since the band have released an album, the track flows with the dynamism of their trademark alt-rock-fueled pop and it boasts the same grungy ethos of their earlier tunes. And though the band’s roster is ever-revolving, their sound still teems with fuzzed-out guitars and aggressive lines like “You don’t know me / You don’t own me / You’re just sucking out my life.”
