Lemonheads Squeeze into Your Town

More than ten years after the release of their last studio album (1996’s Car Button Cloth), the Lemonheads finally have a new project to tour behind. The band will hit the road this November in support of their self-titled album, which hits stores Sept. 26 and features drummer Bill Stevenson (Descendents, Black Flag), bassist Karl Alvarez (Descendents), and a guest appearance from Dinosaur Jr.’s J Mascis. The trek kicks off Nov. 18 in Santa Ana, CA and wraps up Dec. 16 in the band’s hometown of Boston. Can’t wait for the album to come out? Check out the band’s MySpace page to hear the track “No Backbone” off the new album.

Before heading out to a show, school yourself on Lemonheads history by picking up a copy of the upcoming October issue of Spin, in which to frontman Evan Dando talks candidly about his drug use, his near-death experience, and how he’s changed his tune. “For the first time ever, I want to be consistent and be on time and be a professional,” Dando says. “I realize it’s not about missing the show because you’re on acid. It’s about playing really good shows and building some momentum and giving people some entertainment. That evil thing, ambition, has finally crept its way into me.”
