Shins, Death Cab Help Seattle Youth Project

Seattle radio station 107.7 The End is donating the proceeds from a holiday concert — with Death Cab for Cutie headlining — and a compilation CD to the Vera Project, a Seattle charity benefiting youth in music. The 2005 Deck the Hall bash takes place on Dec. 8, and the show features Death Cab and fellow Seattleites Harvey Danger, Aqueduct, and the Saturday Knights. Along with every ticket, The End will hand out a compilation CD called Live from Your Morning Alternative, which includes live performances from the Shins and Blood Brothers, and tracks from Schoolyard Heroes, the Posies, the Pale Pacific, and several other acts. The Pacific Northwest is the only place in the country where you can get a steaming side of youth activism along with your cup of joe: The Vera Project is a Seattle institution dedicated to engaging teenagers in all aspects of music production and community organizing. Live from Your Morning Alternative will be available in stores on Dec. 9, and all proceeds from the album also go to the Vera Project.
