New Details on Outkast Movie Project

As we reported back in March, the boys from Hotlanta have made a movie. Always a lover of the bowtie and the bowler hat, Andre 3000 and Big Boi probably got to run wild with this one: a rock musical set in a 1930s speakeasy. The project was originally called My Life in Idlewild, but is currently untitled now that Universal Pictures bought the worldwide rights to the project. According to NME.com, Andre 3000 will play a character called Percival, the speakeasy’s piano player, while Big Boi will be a club manager called Rooster. Ving Rhames, Terence Howard, Faizon Love, Patti LaBelle, Macy Gray, and Cicely Tyson round out the all-star cast. The project formerly-known-as-Idlewild will emerge in ’06; the soundtrack by Outkast will be released on LaFace.
