Lil’ Kim In the Clink

Rapper Lil’ Kim (nee Kimberly Jones) was sentenced to a year and a day in prison after being convicted on federal perjury and conspiracy charges. The conviction stems from a 2001 incident outside the New York hip-hop station Hot 97 that left one man wounded from a gunshot. The fracas ensued because of a longstanding feud between Kim’s entourage (Junior M.A.F.I.A.) and people associated with rappers Capone-N-Noreaga. Kim’s former manager Damion Butler and bodyguard Suif Jackson have already pled guilty to charges stemming from the incident. Allhiphop.com reports that there is no word yet from Lil’ Kim on whether she will appeal the sentence.
