Ramones Box Set Slated for August Release

In the aftermath of Joey, Johnny, and Dee Dee Ramone’s recent deaths, Rhino Records is in the midst of preparing a Ramones box set to be released on August 16. According to Billboard.com, the four disc set will include over 80 tracks and a DVD from 1990, called Lifestyles of the Ramones, which is a compilation of all of the boys’ video clips from their Sire Records days. The box set will also include the work of graphic artists including Mad Magazine‘s own Sergio Aragones. The Ramones formed in 1974 in Forest Hills, Queens. Lead signer Joey Ramone was the first bandmember to pass away, succumbing to lymphoma in 2001. Bassist Dee Dee Ramone died in 2002, and guitarist Johnny passed away last September after a prolonged battle with cancer.
